Teaching public health with the case method

A case presents a complex problem for which no obvious or single answer exists. Best explored through class-based discussion with multiple perspectives, cases offer specific situations described in sufficient depth for students to develop key skills needed for their future roles as public health practitioners and professionals. Case discussion can be used along with lectures, labs, readings, and problem sets to ensure that students have the opportunity to apply public health knowledge, concepts, and techniques to a wide range of problems.
